Restavracija Shambala

Duck was overcooked, sweet potatoes bland and greasy, mango sour sauce was canned mango chopped, broccoli was the best part of the dish. We ordered Halibut fillet with lemongrass-infused celeriac mash, coconut and raspberry gel but got chicken instead, didn’t even complain as we were hungry and we’re already waiting on food around 30min. Chicken was also overcooked, sweet potatoes chips greasy, no salt. Overall disappointing experience, food looks much better than it tastes. No Asian flavors whatsoever. Would not recommend.

Solid upscale Thai food option in Ljubljana. We started with Tom Yum soup and Indonesian salad. Both delicious. For entrees, we had the red curry with chicken and Prawns with Singaporean sauce. Both were well spiced and solid. What I didn't like was the fact that the prawns had the shells on. An upscale restaurant should clean the shrimp so patrons are not forced to dig out shrimp from their saucy dish and peel them- it was very messy. They did provide wet napkins for cleanup but this should not have been necessary. I understand the shrimp shells help with the flavor of the dish- but there are ways to use the shells after they have been removed from the prawns They had a few craft beers on the menu and the wine options were decent. I STRONGLY recommend getting reservations. While I sat there, the staff turned away no less than a dozen potential patrons - even though there were many empty seats. Solid 4 stars.

The food tastes great. Pleasant ambience, really wonderful terrace. The service was friendly, but we waited an hour and a half for the food. In the end they apologized to us profusely - maybe with such a crowd they would have told us right away that it would be necessary to wait for food so long. It disturbed us, it is a good thing that I was in good company and this time was still well used.

Excellent service and ambient in the center of Ljubljana. We ate main dishes: - “Moulard” duck breasts with sour mango sauce and pan-seared sweet potatoes, broccoli and almonds - Lemongrass grilled beef steak with snow peas and taro potatoes We also ordered desserts: - Chocolate souffle with mango ice cream - Passion fruit ice cream with almond cream & coconut foam
